Expedition into prehistoric times

What begins as an ordinary site visit develops into a spectacular journey into the past. You follow mysterious clues, enter a research area – and experience how the boundary between the present and prehistoric times opens up.

At DinoXperience, you become part of the adventure. Marvel at the dinosaurs in their natural habitats: giants on land, underwater, or flying reptiles in the air.

Learn about the science behind the dinosaurs: At interactive stations you will discover how the dinosaurs really lived, what modern research knows about them and which mysteries remain unsolved to this day.

Whether families, school classes, travel groups or true dinosaur fans – the DinoXperience offers around 75–90 minutes of adventure, wonder and discovery for all generations.

The answers to your questions

The DinoXperience awaits you at Rheinallee 8, 53639 Königswinter. Located directly on the Rhine, below the Siebengebirge and Drachenfels mountains – a perfect place for a family outing and a day full of adventure.

The experience center opens on March 28, 2026. Our opening hours are designed to allow you to plan your visit flexibly:

• On Fridays, Saturdays, public holidays, bridge days and during the holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, we welcome you until 8:00 pm.
• The DinoXperience remains closed on Mondays and Tuesdays so that we can offer you the best possible experience on the other days.
• Last entry is 90 minutes before closing, so you have enough time for your expedition.
• Groups of 25 people or more – such as school classes who need to arrive earlier (from 9:00 am) or groups who wish to visit on Mondays or Tuesdays – are asked to contact us in advance at gruppen@ticketmaster.de to arrange special access outside of regular opening hours.

The DinoXperience is first and foremost an adventure for the whole family. To avoid spoiling the story, we don't want to reveal too much just yet. An immersive world awaits you, taking you back 67 million years to the age of dinosaurs. The DinoXperience combines interactive exploration, captivating storytelling, and sound science into a modern edutainment adventure. As a special delegation, you'll wander through staged research areas, encounter digital prehistoric creatures, and immerse yourselves in scenes that guarantee goosebumps. One thing is certain: Königswinter isn't the location for a dinosaur adventure world by chance, as you'll soon discover. That's why the DinoXperience and Königswinter are a perfect match. You'll have to experience everything else for yourselves!

The content of the DinoXperience is presented in German and English – ideal for international guests and school groups.

The DinoXperience is family-friendly and aimed at children and teenagers of all ages. Some scenes may be exciting for very young children – this is precisely what makes the expedition so engaging. For more sensitive guests, we provide information on-site about effects such as light, sound, and fog. Children under 12 years of age may only visit the DinoXperience when accompanied by a responsible adult.

You should allow approximately 75 to 90 minutes for your visit. It will be a tour that guides you through various stations representing both the present and prehistoric eras.

The experience is wheelchair accessible and equipped with elevators. We want all guests to be able to enjoy the DinoXperience. Please note: The experience is based on unique visual and auditory impressions. Therefore, the DinoXperience may be less accessible for people with visual or hearing impairments. However, we are making every effort to convey these visual and audio-based impressions to those with disabilities in the best possible way.
