FAQ – EXPLORADOM

We remain convinced of the EXPLORADOM philosophy. Unfortunately, however, we cannot implement the EXPLORADOM in its originally planned form in the building at Mercedes-Allee 1.

Naturally, all those who had already purchased gift vouchers for a visit to EXPLORADOM were fully refunded.

We remain convinced of the vision behind EXPLORADOM and will explore alternative implementation options. We will gladly inform you as soon as we have concrete information.

You can find the EXPLORADOM in the former Mercedes-Benz Center in Cologne-Ehrenfeld, at Mercedes Allee 1. The location is central, has excellent transport links and offers impressive architecture that we are transforming into a place of the future.

EXPLORADOM combines learning, adventure, work and family life under one roof – as a cross-generational, sustainable model that, from the outset, aims to build on the best of many years of Odysseum and EXPLORADO in new ways and to continuously develop further.

We don't want to give too much away, but you can look forward to three floors packed with adventure. It's all about experiencing, marveling, and discovering. Younger visitors will be especially delighted: the popular mouse is back again! The interactive areas include hands-on zones for exploring and building, imaginative play worlds, and knowledge stations that show how a city works – from industry and energy to transportation. In later development phases, these themes will be further expanded and brought to life on a larger scale.

The opening is planned for spring 2026. Advance sales for vouchers without a specific date are expected to start on December 18, 2025 – perfect for giving yourself or your loved ones a special Christmas gift.

There's so much to see and do at EXPLORADOM that you could easily spend as much time there as you like. It's worth taking your time to enjoy the day and explore all the areas at your own pace. Furthermore, the visit shouldn't be a one-time experience, but rather an ongoing adventure, offering new impressions for children and families even on their second and third visits.

The EXPLORADOM is for everyone – children, teenagers, and adults. Some areas are particularly exciting for children from around three years old, but older visitors will also find plenty of inspiration and experiences.
